The new MK3 Tabbing SF Boot has been updated with a completely new design and specification which builds on Altbergs 30 years of experiences making leather, ultra-light tactical combat boots.
Lightweight, breathable and designed for running across rough terrain, or tabbing on tracks and hills.
Material
Upper – Nida Idro 1.6mm Full grain soft supple water-repellent leather
Lining – Front of Boot – Spacer Mesh – 100% breathable with minimal moisture retention, faster drying out. Back of Boot – Heel & Leg – Cambrelle – Tried and Tested with increased moisture absorption and comfort.
Midsole – Tri-Flex® 9922 (CMB8) 2-3 season, a combination of medium flex and torsional resistance, suitable for tabbing as well as rough terrain, excellent support of ankle and heel
Sole – Defender Hi-Traction Sole – excellent up-hill traction and downhill braking.
Footbed – 100% breathable Rete Mesh Cover + 1mm comfort felt + CMB8 Airgrid shock absorbing base with enhanced air circulation.

Fit advice: Altberg suggest that you go up ½ a size on your SHOE size – this will allow for a thick sock with the boots if needed.
A closer look
Designed for high activity military use, this tactical boot features a slightly shorter leg height, compared to the Sneeker which along with the shape helps to enhance mobility when running.
The key to the design is the ergonomic last on which the boot is made. The last is based on a running shoe last, but has been adapted to incorporate shock absorption and torsional resistance to give good security and foot comfort on footpaths as well as rough terrain.
The 1.8mm Nida Hydro full grain soft supple leather upper is paired with a Cambrelle, ultra breathable, non-waterproof membrane.

- New Defender Hi-Traction sole. Improved up hill traction, down hill braking, flat surface slip resistance.

- Air circulating, AirGrid footbed. Maximum air circulation, minimum moisture retention.
- New upper pattern. One piece of leather around the foot, minimal stitched seams.
- New metal lace loops replace the hooks on the upper to reduce chance of snagging

*The AForme refers to the more asymmetric shape of this last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
