Based on the tried and tested Altberg Tethera. The Nordkapp is a classic 3 season hill walking boot, suitable for Lakeland Fells and the Scottish hills.
The upper is a seamless one-piece construction, made from first grade 2.6mm Italian Nubuck, backed up by a Sympatex waterproof lining. Added protection to the upper comes from a full rubber rand with increased height around the toe and a higher collar gives excellent ankle stability. The underfoot support comes from a polypropylene, Tri-Flex midsole with a level 3 flex, which gives excellent torsional support and stability underfoot.
The main difference between the Tethera and Nordkapp is the fitting (last). The Nordkapp is made on the A-Forme foot shape, which has an asymmetric forefoot, increased toe spring and a narrower heel, providing a slightly lower volume and snugger fit than the Tethera.
If your priority is ‘wet conditions’ performance, you can treat the Nubuck upper with Leder-Gris. Once treated with Leder-Gris wax oil the upper will become more water-resistant, but please note the change in colour and finish, which becomes polished not brushed, is irreversible.

*The AForme refers to the more asymmetric shape of the last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
